Will post some pics at the end but man that was fun. I really didn’t give us much of a chance and, after the first quarter, I had even less hope. I sat section 304 row 11 so was right behind our sideline and watched the sideline all night.
That first quarter the body language from our team showed no confidence. Harsin talked to caddy a lot in that first quarter. When TJ went in I was watching Bo and he wasn’t pouting. He gave TJ a five after the series and went to talk to him some. I saw Harsin tell Bo he was going back in and Bo went over to the OL group and talked for a good bit to them.
Bo then came in and the game changed. And boy, do LSU fans hate Bo Nix. I was shocked at how much hate he was getting and this was even before he started to play better. They started blaming the Bham refs, we were holding every play, and they hate their o line too.
Our d line balled out big time. They were so tired but kept fighting. Each group was constantly getting talked to by the coaches after every series and, even though they were showing little confidence to begin with, they never panicked. When Bo made that play, it’s all they needed bc they believed and th chatter on the sideline and the focus increased. It is hard to explain but the whole sideline attitude changed in a way that was visible.
And after the game it was so nice to see the players and coaches celebrate. Still a long way to go and I still don’t think we are a “good” team but we have t won many of those type games in a while. Also, I took a pic of the other side of the stadium/upper deck and I swear half were gone by the first part of the 3rd quarter. A lot of people left the game early way before it looked like we will win. Tiger stadium is nicer than JH but, a big gameday experience at JH was much better than last night at Death Valley. Now, I know there have been bigger games and the fanbase is tired of O, but don’t sell AU gameday at JH short. But man, winning road games are fun and it is even more fun there since I was 13 last time we won.
