I watch a lot of digital foundry and with the new consoles they've been doing a lot of Series X vs. PS5 comparisons. I've noticed a recent trend in the newer games that have come out, especially last gen games that have been enhanced for the new consoles.
It seems that in most instances, Series X puts out a 150p to 200p higher resolution, but PS5 is better at staying a consistent 60 FPS.
Am I wrong in thinking that if PS5 raised its resolution, then the framerate would be inconsistent, and if Series X lowered its resolution, it would be able to stick with a flat 60 FPS like PS5, or does one have nothing to do with the other?
Also, in your opinion do you think its the developer's call to give Series X higher resolution and PS5 consistent framerates, or is that something the console companies request they push for their platform? Or is it the hardware themselves that dictate what prioritizes one over the other?
