When you upgrade your phone, do you get the discounted price?

How much more expensive will it actually be?

They talked me into it but the salesman was not very articulate. So my understanding may be incomplete:

You pay only sales tax on the phone at time of purchase (sales tax is calculated as if you had paid full retail price.)
You pay payments on the phone -retail price divided by 20 - each month for 20 months, at which time you've paid it off.
They offset the phone payments by crediting you $25 on your plan each month and all edge plans have 10 gigs of data.
You can upgrade anytime as long as you've paid (or are willing to pay) 60% of the retail price of your current phone.
You can get out of the edge plan at anytime as long as you've paid 60% of the cost of your phone.

I went yesterday to get my son an iPhone6 and bought one for myself as well once I realized I could pay off the phone at 60%.
