Not one for rumor-mongering, usually just give my opinion pertaining to on-field topics that I can actually see. I haven't read all 3 pages of replies but I got the gist of the thread/replies.
It's true. Was told early this morning the exact same thing (fracture in socket) from someone who would know. Also, someone who probably has no clue that The Bunker exists. When I finally logged-on to see if any news, I see the 3-page thread for the first time.
Just posting for those who like some closure and idea about who we truly have on defense. Go ahead and plan on no CL this season, obviously. And while it's not Bo-level and is simply a fracture, a hip socket fracture for a football player can have career implications.
For now - and I'm not typing this to be a debbie-downer but to provide clarity - I'm placing CL in the Keymiya Harrell portion of my homemade depth chart. He could be good by Spring but, as another poster mentioned earlier this week, I'll look at each and every future healthy snap from CL as an AU Tiger as simply a bonus. ACL now fracture in hip in minimal time on the field usually doesn't end well.
Hope he gets back soon. But this defense and their coaches will need to figure out how to become a decent unit without being so reliant on one player to wreak havoc. And the offense will need to score some points. Until the game tape proves otherwise, we won't provide reasonable pressure with the front-four... and that usually doesn't lead to low scores.
