For me, the rise of TRUMP signals that the uneducated electorate is much more pragmatic than I ever realized.
Everyone knows TRUMP is not religious. His appeal to Christians is an obvious sham. But you know what? Christians are overlooking it because they care more about the issues than religious debates.
The anti-Muslim sentiment helps bridge the gap. For the record, I have no problem with it. The Constitution will protect them, but I have no problem with the religion itself taking heat from the POTUS.
I am an American exceptionalist. It is a fact, not an opinion. I want a leader that presses that real advantage to the benefit of Americans.
I feel good about what's happening because I finally feel I've found common ground with everyday conservatives. Do I still think they're generally racist and backwards? Yeah, but if they're willing to relax their standards on religion, then I have new faith that they'll come around in other areas as well.
