Always a dandy.

LIST OF AFFILIATES AND LINKS

PREDICTION:
Lots of nice things to be said about Ole Miss, no comment about his vax status (thank goodness).

*****

CARNELL WILLIAMS, Auburn's tailbacks coach, is with us. He also was a "solid" tailback at Auburn a number of years ago. He's from Attalla, Ala.

Not Andy asks about how Carnell was a kick returner back in the day. "As a player, I felt much more confident. It was on me. I know my mental focus. As a coach, I'm nervous all the time — for my players. Those guys put in the work. They study film. Once they're out there, it's kind of out of my control."

Andy asks about Jarquez Hunter. "The think I love about him is ... he gives himself an opportunity to be in those (important) positions because of what he shows in the practice. That young man has earned the right to be in those big moments."

Not Andy asks about how his guys work to get better. "Each an every day ... we just strive for excellence. If you bring your best and you're intentional ... you're going to get better and better." He also mentions that they push to improve "football intelligence" at all times.

Andy asks about Carnell using a "dead leg" when he was a tailback at Auburn. "I was an explosive guy, but I wasn't very fast ... with long speed. I had to give guys that dead leg. That was one of my patented moves. It turned out to be OK."

Not Andy asks about Carnell's favorite single run as a player. (He's a coach now, guys.) "I'mma go back to my freshman year. The Vandy game up there. I was struggling early on the in year. That was the game that honestly gave me confidence. I remember ripping off a long run. As an athlete ... it was a toss to me, I remember making a guy miss and broke a tackle. That gave me so much confidence to finish that year."

Andy asks about Ole Miss' defense. "Just from their three-down front, they remind you of Arkansas. They play relentless on defense. Effort is the first thing that jumps out. They're a physical group. Them guys really play hard and lay that wood."

COMMERCIAL BREAK

ROGER McCREARY now joins the show.

Roger says he decided to come back this season to get his degree (he graduated last summer) and to raise his draft stock. "My hard work is paying off. I just have to keep going."

"I've tried to focus more on my Football IQ. We're playing more zone now; I think that's great for me playing at the next level."

On playing zone: "(Zone) is all about eyes. We've got to pass it off, search for someone else new."

He is asked about eating backed beans on Fridays. "That tradition started my junior season. Baked beans are on my mind. I get two plates. I put eight packs of sugar in my beans. I've been doing this my whole life. My parents would serve me a whole pot."

Not Andy asks who is roommate on the road is. GUFFAWS ALL AROUND. (Beans make you fart, right?)

COMMERICAL BREAK

Not Andy asks about the week of practice. "This week has been solid. (UH OH!) It's a fine line of getting out there and going hard ... but also installing plays."

Andy asks about how this Sunday was different than a usual Sunday. "Usually after a game, you focus on the game we just played. We already did that. We took advantage of that day to get ahead and get some reps in preparation for Ole Miss."

Email question comes in about DD Davis being a big scout team guy since he's kinda like Matt Corral (???). Harsin is stunned. "Corral is a good player, but he's one of 11 out there. The other guys are dang good players, too. You have to have guys who can give you good looks ... from the scouts."

Andy asks about how far back Auburn goes to scout Ole Miss on tape. (All the way back to 1933, ANDY!) "This year. It's a different team (now). (Corral) is a different player now. He's better. That's what good players do."

Not Andy asks about Roger McCreary. Harsin likes him a lot, as you'd expect. "He's trying to really master his craft and be a really good football player. He's out there every day to try to get better."

COMMERICAL BREAK

Not Andy asks how many players are competing for playing time versus competing with themselves. I have no idea what this means. Harsin saves us by saying Trox and Zierer are competing for that job at left tackle."You've got to take advantage of the opportunity you have."

Andy asks about Pappoe. "I hope we see him this week. Owen has been getting himself prepared to play. I know he wants to play. I hope this week is the week."

Andy asks about Chandler Wooten. "He's one of the guys who is consistent week in and week out. He's got a great attitude. He's focus. He pushes through things. On top of that, he's really stepped up and played well."

Not Andy asks about Ole Miss' front and if it's like Arkansas'. "They played some more four-down. Ole Miss could certainly do that. They haven't shown that this season ... but they have a lot of guys around the box. The way they play their coverage is different than what Arkansas did."

Andy asks about pace of play. He notes that Arkansas and Ole Miss employ offensive coordinators with ties to Baylor. "They're good," he says of Ole Miss. "If we can create negative plays or neutral plays, that tends to slow teams down. This team leads the country in fourth-down goes. That's part of who they are."

SOME LIGHT GUFFAWS when Andy mentions that Auburn's defense has been good against teams on 4th down.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Not Andy asks if Harsin has been part of a family dress-up for Halloween. "Noooo. Even if we didn't, I wouldn't admit it."

GUFFAWS ALL AROUND – INCLUDING ME!

Andy says this is a big game. Harsin agrees. "You go in there with a mindset that nobody beats you at home. It needs to be loud. I needs to be rowdy. That energy and that enthusiasm helps our football team."

Not Andy asks about being consistent. Boring question. Boring answer. GIGO

Andy says it's going to be chilly. Harsin disagrees. "We had a heater on the sideline at Arkansas. (He's confused.) The last time we had a heater on the sideline (at BoiSe), it was 9 degrees." GUFFAWS ALL AROUND.

Not Andy asks for keys to the game: "You've got to start fast in all three phases. You've got to score touchdowns in the red zone. You've got tackle. You've got to be consistent in your coverage. You've got to be ready to play four quarters."

"Thank you, War Eagle," he says with congenial eagerness.

BE GOOD. BE YOU.
