We're back. I'm back again. Auburn and Miss State will be facing off in a generational SEC mid-off. Auburn is at home so we're live.
LIST OF AFFILIATES AND LINKS
Prediction: More GUFFAWS ALL AROUND
**********
HUGH FREEZE is here. He didn't say War Eagle, just asked Andy how he was.
ANDY asks what it was like when they first heard the crowd last week: "I continue to be amazed by the Auburn Family and our fans... that's an incredible advantage to have."
NOT ANDY asks about the work ethic of the team: "I don't care what area you are in life -- all of us will face closed doors and unmet expectations. How you deal with those things tells a lot about you." Mentioned he's been impressed by his team's response, especially at practice on Tuesday and Thursday. "I hope it shows Saturday."
ANDY asks about the teachings that Hugh gives his teams. Freeze mentioned that he gets his messages from books that he reads over the summer.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
NOT ANDY asks about the Arnett defense: "It's scary. They're very good at what they do... very few teams are having success running against them. You're going to have to beat them by throwing. They're so good up front.
NOT ANDY compares it to another defense: "It's a six man pressure a lot of times, and all of a sudden it's not but it looks like it."
BUSTER is in the house. He's asking about the State qb's: "We've kind of tried to plan for both. It's two different deals."
ANDY asks how different the offense is now: "It's the wide zone, bootlegs." Compared it to what App State runs.
ANDY asks about preparing for two different qbs: "It's like when Robby goes in for us, it's zone read, power read stuff. It's the same thing with Wright... That's not the same thing with Rogers. He's going to sit in the pocket and throw it around."
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
MICHAEL FLOYD is in the house. He's asking about Mike Leach. "Coach Leach and I, we weren't real close. But I think everyone in college football has a Coach Leach story. Mine is a phone call about a possible hire I was going to make and usually those take about five minutes and Coach Leach's conversation with me lasted about 30. And I'll never forget how he made you feel like you had his full attention... he honored every minute we were on that phone call."
NOT ANDY asks if that's how being on the show makes him feel. He credited the people for making him feel that way (GUFFAWS ALL AROUND)
TOM is in the house. He's asking if he has any favorite Auburn beat writers.... wait, that's me! "I'll tell you what, the Auburn sports writers are all incredible. They're all very very very fair. They do well getting their clicks (LOL)." Shouted out @BrianStultz as well
NOT ANDY asks about Halloween: "I'm always in football I don't think Halloween -- now, me growing up, big deal... Jill takes care of all of the trick or treating. I'm usually not home."
NOT ANDY asks about Connor Lew: "He's going to get baptized by fire in this one... but he'll hold his own. We think he's going to be really special. Glad we have him. Hate that Avery is banged up... Tate Johnson will be ready to play there, he'll probably have to play guard and center."
COURTNEY is in the house. She asks about his gamey rituals "I'm pretty boring. I'm going to chew Big Red gum. If it's not working then I go to Bazooka... I wore the same coaching shoes for 12 years, but those finally wore out."
NOT ANDY asks about State's skill positions: "No. 7 is an incredible back... No. 15, he's the best returner we've faced. They're explosive at running back and receiver. They're going to be a tough. test."
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
NOT ANDY asks about the running back room: "Damari is back -- I say he's back, he hasn't taken a hit yet. But he's clear to go... glad to have him back."
NOT ANDY "We've been very thin at several spots... We toyed with the idea of red shirting Keys but just not going to be able to."
ANDY asks about Jarquez: "Good to see him get some explosive runs because he's got that in him. Really kind of surprised he hasn't had more, but I think he's getting in form now and we'll certainly need him in this one to make tough runs.
NOT ANDY asks about the defense forcing turnovers: "Short fields are really nice when you're struggling on offense... anytime we get a shorter field, we feel confident we're in a position to get points."
ANDY asks about Marcus Harris: "Special. Special season. Special kid. Bought in all the way, loves Auburn. Works hard, shows up to do his job and does it well. Is a great leader. He's having to play too many snaps, truthfully, and you wonder if he can keep that up. We've got to get some depth in recruiting. It'd be nice for him to play 35 snaps a game and I think he'd be even more dominant."
My Auburn app just crashed..?????
That's all for Hugh.
Y'all have a good night
