From my experience, they don't teach fundamentals, you know like dribbling and not traveling, they don't teach picks, rolls, give and Gos, proper shooting techniques, how to make layups under pressure, how to dribble under pressure, how to play defense, how to draw charges. The idea that players must stay within arms distance of the player they are guarding is in direct conflict with good M2M principles. Same goes for no double teaming. Poor concept. Watching games at the 6th grade level was like watching a game without rules. Most kids that came out of this type league were years behind their peers.
The sportsmanship aspect is debatable.
