Reading the rumored amounts for NIL and, now apparently, signing bonuses, what is the budget for the Athletic Department or a high level CFB team going forward?
Team size is going up, scholarships can be given to anyone on the team and NIL is a possibility for all as well. Are we going to see a baseball team with a “payroll” of $10 - $15M? A football program with a $30M payroll? How will the overall department budget be determined?
Added support staff for managing the financial dynamics will be needed. Will AD revenue need to be diverted from non-revenue sports?
