So dude goes to hospital and name drops that he's a member of the "4 Tops". It's Detroit, so they naturally think he's a nut and they ordered a psych evaluation. When they figure out that he is a member (albeit relatively new, 2019) they offer him a $25 gift card as an apology. He refused the apology and is sueing for racial discrimination.
Does he understand how many random dudes come off the street trying to get special treatment by saying they are someone famous? "I'm Tito Jackson mutha****er, get me ahead of all these other people!"....... Then for the hospital to think they could cover this up with a $25 gift card. You just admitted that you did something wrong. It was a misunderstanding. It's not like they had him committed. They ordered an evaluation and then canceled it.
I get there are more nuances to this, but it's pretty humorous on both sides. Glad he's ok.
Edit: It seems they did place him in some sort of restraints. Hospital is ****ed.
