We have a habit in the AD to do things half-ass. Examples:
Did we claim additional national championships or did we not? Nobody ever says anything, but they are listed on the official site of the athletic department? And why would we claim 93 when we were on probation and not 2004 when we were undefeated, USC vacated the title, and everybody knows we were screwed? I don't get it. And why put them on the website if we aren't going to put them in the stadium and announce it? Either do it or don't do it. I hate half-arse crap. It seems at Auburn we are always so darn scared of what somebody thinks.
Also when it comes to the stadium, I would rather we do nothing at all that do something half-arse. Even Ole Miss is expanding their north endzone and expanding their suites in the other endzone with two jumbotrons on the suite side. I realize we don't have the money of A&M, but if we are going to spend $ 120 million, why not make sure the outside stadium facade looks like first class? Why do we not get the fanbase excited with a fundraising drive to improve our football stadium? Just like we come up with fancy "Auburn Fast" ID's for the season, we can come up with an "Auburn the next generation" Fundraising drive for our stadium, raise $150 million from our fanbase, and really do it right. Unless I'm wrong, we haven't tried. I think all of us would give something to this..even if it is $100. It adds up. Why have we not done this? Ole Miss raised $100 million for their stadium. Look at these drawings of A&M's stadium. I just want Auburn to be the best, and not do this in patchwork just to do something? If the athletic dept forked ovver $120 milion and the fans raised $ 120 million, we could do a lot with $ 240 million for JHS. I want it to be the best..a show place..not more circus tents. Maybe there is more to the rendering that we haven't seen...Sorry that's just my opinion
