I have two daughters and two sons in laws who are exceptional people. They are great parents and they have done an amazing job raising my eight grandchildren. My grandchildren are well mannered, responsible, and mature beyond their years.
My family is the joy of my life. They have provided so many highs. The only problem is with 2 daughters, 2 son in laws and 8 grandchildren there will be drama at some point. Every time I get a phone call, email or text I hold my breath for a minute.
About a week ago I got a call from my oldest daughter. My oldest granddaughter had just totaled her car. Fortunately, no one else was involved and my granddaughter was not seriously hurt. So far, the only other negative things have been very minor. My grandchildren range in age from 12 to 23 so we have survived a lot so far.
When my Mother was 90, someone ask her how my sister and I were doing. Her response was, so far, so good. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I had always assumed that when my children were out of the house I could stop worrying.
I had no idea what I was starting when I got married and had children.
