What does firing Harsin now vs. at the end of the year accomplish? Here is what I see right now from my vantage point.

Fire Now:
Have to find an interim coach. Push someone from staff in to that role.
Team has no rudder and flounders
Season completely falls apart
Media assaults us relentlessly for not giving the guy time
Recruiting sucks
Good players that actually are trying to hold it together give up
Coaches start looking for a new place to land rather than focus on game plan and players
We still can’t officially announce a coach until the end of the season

Fire at end of season:
Give him a full two years
The players that like Harsin continue to fight
Still put out feelers behind the scene
May win a few games more and not completely implode
Recruiting may still suck but can still pick up some serviceable kids or keep the few we have
Media writes about how bad we got beat against teams but can only speculate he is getting fired so they stay away from the full media assault
We hire an AD and look for a coach and give the appearance the shitshow is run by a competent AD and not a nut duster

Just being over so Harsin is gone seems on the surface like a very shortsighted move by people wanting their way now. We have so many issues in this program that delaying the firing by a few more months is not going to push this dumpster fire into a deeper decline. We are there now. This program is in shambles. I’ll hang up and listen.
