There seems to be a narrative that some of the issues among the OL are a reflection of Gus and his inability to recruit OL. I am not endorsing the previous staff decisions when it came to recruiting the 0L. With that said there is no question in my mind that the failure along the OL is 100% with this current staff.

This staff has had two spring practices, summer practices, fall practices, and two years of a new strength program. They have had two recruiting cycles and two portal cycles.

This isnt about Tate Johnson not being good enough.. this is about not realizing that you had no depth behind Nick Brahms and failing to address it. This is asking a player who has been here for six years like Austin Troxel to give you something more than you have already seen. This is relying on Brandon Council to be good when he has been average his entire career. This is failing to develop young guys like Jones and Stutts. We essentially brought back the entire last year‘s OL and expected better results.

This staff put these guys in a position to fail. This staff put this team in a position to fail. This has nothing to do with Gus.
