For those not aware Ohio had a deadline of 8/7 to have their ballots for November finalized.
The wise person in charge of the DNC did not realize and scheduled the DNC convention for mid August
Ohio law markers came together and pushed the deadline back to 8/31 to give the Democrats time to make an official nomination, which is needed to be in the ballot.
However that "law" they passed to push the deadline back doesn't go into effect until 9/1, which leaves many to believe that the RNC could challenge that it wasn't a valid law for this cycle and if they do not appoint someone by 8/7, Ohio would have no Democrat candidate.
The DNC was going to get around any challenges by holding a roll call by phone next week and making the nomination private and the DNC being nothing but a peep rally, but with everything going down now, it's unsure if they will have a candidate to nominate by 8/7
It's just wild to think that Ohio might be a freebie
