What really stood out to me was the comment on the Drain that JJ has on the team. I saw a poster ask why the team has zero chemistry/joy/emotion or whatever you choose to call it and I keep going back to that comment about JJ being a drain rather than an engine. I think that is the best description of how the entire team is feeling right now. Think about how we as fans feel when thinking or discussing JJ and the issues he's having. We are puzzled and asking if they are fixable because we don't know. We don't know because we've never seen anything like it. We as fans have all lost the joy of looking forward to seeing our Tigers play because we know he's gonna stink it up. There is no more getting pumped up or hyped because it's game week. I think that's the way the team feels, but x1000. They work their asses off in practice trying to get better, prepare for the next game and like us, they hold out hope that may be JJ will finally click. Then game time comes JJ goes out there - throws some picks - fumbles - throws passes 5 yards short or straight into the dirt - 10 yards over the WR's head or 20 yards backward.
At that point they know it's gonna be another shitty SOS kinda day. That's when they say screw this, throttle back and start just going through the motions to get it over with. From what JGT said about Boom going into an acceptance mode it sounds like maybe some of the staff is drained as much as the players and fans. JJ is indeed a huge drain and has killed this entire programs morale from the fans to scout team and everyone in between. That said, I still believe AU can get this thing headed in the right direction. It won't be an overnight turn around by any means but the train can get back on the track. That is if Gus will finally pull the plug on this Jeremy Johnson fuster cluck. The team sees the train wreck from inside the car. Hell, if we are starting to lose our mojo for our team then you can imagine what it's like for those on the front lines. We have fans refusing to watch another game, let alone attend another game until JJ is yanked. The players can't openly say it, but their actions scream it. They don't want to be out there in 115 degree heat busting their asses knowing they have zero chance of getting any help from their QB and knowing the coach isn't doing anything to stop it. Get some decent QB play and watch the teams chemistry - morale and joy meters start to climb.
