Bmatt hit on it in the rundown, but most of y'all need to put on your big boy pants and fvcking grow up. I've never seen a group so unable to digest information they disagree with.
ANY and ALL Gus criticism was juuuust fine, celebrated even. I can't even imagine what the reaction would have been if we almost lost to Ga St with 10 men on the field/WR running on late. We damn sure wouldn't have scapegoated a position coach, I can promise you that. The blame would have fallen directly on the HC's feet (Gus in this hypothetical for those that struggle to keep up).
Before y'all get all butthurt, I was supportive of letting Gus go at the end. I was. It was time. But I liked the man and will always pull for him. I loved the Harsin hire, was very optimistic. But I can listen to criticism of him, as he is a man and he is not perfect. I don't guy into the "Alpha vs. Beta" stupid childlike analysis as though now that we finally have a "REAL MAN (TM)" at the helm all of a sudden he can do no wrong.
One cannot deny the turmoil going on in the program right now. That affects things. Hell, Gus was able to keep the team together in the middle of a damn coup attempt! Those players LOVED him and played their asses off for him (stupid playcalls and swiss cheese OL notwithstanding). I'm beginning to wonder if the guys in the locker room feel the same way about Harsin. Being a hard ass is all well and good, but you have to keep the program together. I hope Harsin can. I continue to root for him to do well (something some of you did not towards the end of Gus' tenure).
WDE.
