So many times this year, we have had a double digit first half lead. We are a streaky team that can go on a 10-0 run before you can blink. Last night we were up by 14 at half, but true Auburn fans knew that we were going to let them back into the game by throwing up silly threes and slacking on d for a 4 minute stretch.
Therein lies the difference. We didn’t leave the girl that brought us to the dance. We continued to get the ball to Broome and JW. They were frankly unstoppable. You could tell Bruce made a point to get it to Broome after every timeout. JB put together two great halves. That’s the sign of maturity I’ve been waiting to see from this team that makes me think we can beat anyone. We rode momentum, but didn’t let it make us reckless.
I love this team.
Also Broome’s improved FT shooting is the most underrated change in this year. He’s made such strides in his game.
