I rarely post here because…well… I just prefer creeping and I won’t lie, I’m more of a frontrunner fan. I’ll only cheer when my team is actually winning. You can call me a fair-weather fan, but what can I say? I don’t like losing in life and don’t like supporting losers. It’s just how I live.
I grew up in Alabama. Mind you, I was a transplant who got the hell out as soon as I graduated, but I’ve been baptized in the ways of Bama. I got stuck in Alabama at the beginning of high school and when choosing a college, I could have cared less about going to either university in the state but found Auburn people more tolerable and thought Auburn had a cooler name. And when I was a student at Auburn we won pretty consistently and beat Bama every year, which made the university experience exceptionally better. Don’t ever underestimate what a winning football team does for the psyche.
But those days are long gone, and Bama is now the perennial power. I watch year in and year out with these Alabama teams going to the playoffs and it makes me angry, which is mostly rooted in jealousy. Why do idiots get to be perennial champions? Why can’t Auburn have that? I want to be a perennial winner.. Nothing is better in life. I have to ask you guys the age ole question. What is best in life?? And the answer is clear.. “To crush your enemies. See them driven before you. And to hear the lamentations of all people associated with Bama.”
When Auburn had the opportunity to hire Bruce Pearl, a damaged goods coach at the time, I thought it was absolute brilliance. What Bruce lacks as a basketball tactician he makes up for in natural extraversion that radiates good vibes and an intense will to compete. That hire turned us from (and let me emphasis this) …A PERNINAL LOSER basketball program into what could be a long-standing basketball powerhouse. The transformation has been incredible to witness.
Our football program has the reputation as a perennial sleeper. Every 3–5-year we might be a contender. Auburn can come in and beat anyone and contend for natty "on occasion," or just be a typical mediocre and forgettable team. I have to ask y’all, what other school has that reputation? Any come to mind? The closest I can think of is LSU, but LSU is more of a perennial power than sleeper. My next question is… are y’all ok with that reputation?? I can tell you I’m not. I’m sick of settling for mediocrity and the occasional chance at greatness.
This all leads to my final point. Our team has the “potential” to finally take its place amongst the elite in college football. We have a brand-new state of the art football facility and plenty of NIL money to become a juggernaut. My fellow alumni brothers the time is now for a seismic shift hire... And that hire is not ****ing Lane Kiffin. There is only 1 man for the job and that man is Deion Sanders, aka Coach Prime.
Let’s take a moment to consider Deion’s current mindset. He has achieved everything a man could achieve as a player. Some would even call him the greatest DB of all time. So in the 2nd stage of life, he probably got bored with the mundane aspects of retirement (as many great men do) and decides to start coaching. When most of us heard that he took the job at JSU, we gave it little thought because, truth is, almost all player coaches suck. Their egos just aren’t good matches for the profession. But on occasion, there are exceptions to the rule. And Deion seems to be that man. All he seems to do is recruit and win. And just like Pearl, he possesses the personality that just draws people to him. Particularly 18-22 year old freak athletes.
I’ll end on this. I think Deion’s Ego is unbelievably massive. It’s unavoidable consequence with all he has accomplished. But you know who else has a massive ego?.. Nick Saban. Both these men truly believe they are the greatest at what they do. Saban knows he’s considered the greatest coach of all time. At this point in his journey, he doesn’t believe anyone can take that title from him. But maybe, just maybe… the greatest DB of all time turned ball coach, who is out recruiting everyone from a FBC school, who is winning conference titles and who suddenly takes over as coach at Bama’s biggest rivals.. Just maybe, a little bit of fear starts to creep into Saban’s mind. And he starts to wonder if his title of greatest coach of all time is truly secure.
This shit is beyond epic gentlemen, we cannot **** this up. Do what it takes to make the hire Mr. Cohen. Good day to you all. War ****ing Eagle!
