Both sides are rearming and restructuring - esp Russia... few generals replaced - with more violent/aggressive ones. There's some intel that Putin will shortly declare UKR a war, rather than special military op... Patrushev (most dedicated Chekist in the Kremlin other than putin) is recasting the war as a battle against NATO, esp the US and UK, tapping into old communist fears... Putin's recruited prisoners, and mercenaries - wagner group has been reinforced with US trained afghanis angry at their situation - being left behind, along with more conscripts.... they'll launch a 3 pronged attack early spring.... while many talk about russian losses, few talk about UKR losses - they've lost a ton as well and can't afford the losses as well as Russia can... Germany is still snubbing requests for Leopard tanks to UKR, they have deep ties to the Kremlin, with Merkle having been a russian stooge for decades. The arrest of a high-ranking BND officer selling secrets to the Kremlin only further evidences the comfort germans have with Russia. the US won't give UKR M1's, due to their 'offensive' nature....
Key is, the west is giving UKR enough to prolong the war, but not win it. In a war of attrition, russia wins... and most don't want russia to lose - just like hitler, putin if cornered will use everything to prevent loss or take the west with him... his mental state is declining, nowhere near as bad as biden's - can you imagine, the leaders of the 2 most powerful nations in the world are borderline insane? Only real question is will putin resort to nukes - will he get desperate enough?

Looks like there's little chance the russian army turns against him. His recasting of the war as a struggle against NATO aggression will garner movement in public opinion, good propaganda always does.
