Johnson was the first Auburn quarterback to throw for more than 200 yards in a half since Cam Newton in 2010 vs. South Carolina in the SEC championship game (281 yards in first half). Johnson, who completed his first eight passes, finished 12-16 for 243 yards, with touchdown passes to D'haquille Williams (18 yards) and Melvin Ray (49 yards).
In the three games where he has played a full half of action (Western Carolina and Florida Atlantic in 2013 and Arkansas 2014), Johnson has completed 39-53 passes for 636 yards and eight touchdowns with two interceptions for a 216.65 passing efficiency rating. His eight career touchdown passes have been to seven different receivers.
