We have a 6 year old lab. Smart dog, but as Warren Zevon would say, he's an excitable boy and is a big hyper goofball of a dog. We have two cats and keep their food bowls in our laundry room. We've never had to elevate the cat food. He was taught as a pup not to eat their food and he's never broken the rules. Now, if they spill some out of the bowls it's fair game and he will clean it up. He absolutely never goes in their bowls, though.
