I used to be a moderate, centrist Republican voter until around 1990, when it dawned on me that supply side economics was pretty much a cynical hoax perpetrated by the rich for the rich--genius for them to convince the peons that the rich getting richer is good for the poor--and that the national R party had become little more than a coalition of rich people manipulating economic policy for their benefit, and a bunch of rural, white evangelical/moralists who are along for the ride, frequently to their own economic disadvantage.
