So the bars EF is tomorrow at like 6am, and since I'll be fast asleep and watching on tape-delay later that night, thought I'd share a breakdown of Suni's main competition tomorrow. Nina Derwael, from Belgium, is the reigning world-champion (she's won the last two) on the event. Her execution is out of this world.
So far, in the Olympics, Suni has scored a 15.2, a 15.4, and a 15.3 on bars . Nina has scored a
15.36, a 15.4, and a 15.266. Suni had the higher difficulty, while Nina's execution has been higher, but they're neck and neck.
I think Suni will win, but it will be nail-biter. Suni is going first, and sometimes scores are a little tighter earlier in the competition (but I don't think this is true now that that 10-score has changed.
Here's a video showing their two routines and styles:
Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED talk and GO SUNI!
