Auburn is playing two today.

GAME ONE: The Tigers beat North Texas 8-0 in the early game. Ace Maddie Penta was up to her usual tricks, allowing just two hits over six innings and striking out 11 batters. She walked none. Centerfielder Makayla Packer went 2-for-3 with a triple and score a pair of runs. KK McCrary and Anna Wohlers homered and drove in a combined five runs.

GAME TWO: Auburn beat USC Upstate in the late game, 8-4. Makayla Packer broke a 4-4 tie with a walk-off grand slam in the 7th inning. Starter Annabelle Widra allowed three earned runs during her 1 2/3 innings of work, but Malayna Tamborra and Shelby Lowe pitched at a higher level after that and held Upstate to one run during the final 5 1/3 innings. Auburn trailed 4-2 after four innings, but Skyler Elkins‘ solo homer in the fifth inning narrowed the deficit. An RBI single from Icess Trevsik in the sixth inning tied the game, prefacing Packer’s defining blast.

Auburn now is 12-2-1 overall and begins conference play next weekend at Mizzou.
