So apparently Occidental College students have begun protesting "in support of the Missouri protests." How does that even work? They just do everything the Mizzou people did even though they don't necessarily have the same reasons? That seems crazy, but that's what they're doing. In fact they're also asking for the resignation of their president.
Both the faculty and administration have been supportive of the protest. Even though it isn't clear exactly what prompted them. Seems to me that they saw Missouri and said, "Hey, that looks fun! Maybe we should do that too!" The only thing in the article that touches on a reason for the protests is some very vague reference to "micro-aggression" and the general stress that students (especially students of color, apparently) face.
This is really getting beyond stupid.
I would think and hope that black people who lived through segregation and the Civil Rights movement would be embarrassed by these people. They want so badly to be offended enough to protest and take a stand that they invent reasons. But, really, they're highly privileged kids who have no reason for complaint.
