My SIL has put on a special needs camp for the past 16 years. It’s a week long camp and is similar to Special Olympics, but with Jesus as the focus. My 8 kids were vital in working this camp and all came home with a smile on their faces, but exhausted.
If you ever have a chance to get involved with such a camp, DO SO! My kids come home with a grateful attitude and smile on their face. They see life outside of themselves and that’s a good thing. We often create a bubble that we live in and fail to see the life outside of ourselves.
To you parents with special needs children. Your faithfulness, persevering and patience are to be commended. Your children are awesome. May God bless you and your children.
Hang in there, keep the faith and love on those children. You’re doing a great job and you are so special and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. God bless you!
