Hugh is awful. There’s no way you can sit at practice and watch Hank and PT all day and think ‘nah, I don’t need a portal QB’. That decision is going to cost us all of our recruiting momentum when these recruits start decomitting soon. Even if the ceiling with Can Ward was 8-9 wins, we should have paid it. That $1.5mm was the cost to save our program by keeping this recruiting class intact and keeping the momentum going. Now…ONCE AGAIN…we are going to go into the off season with absolute no plans for QB except praying to God (or whatever other deity that OBVIOUSLY hates Auburn) that we somehow land a stud QB in the portal. Spoiler alert: we won’t land a good QB in the portal and will prob roll with Hank most of the year and then repeat this process for the rest of our inconsequential meaningless lives. Amen.
