I was told not to expect Congress to do anything as far as NIL regulatory legislation. The left does not want to limit the ability of primarily African-American, economically disadvantaged athletes to fully leverage the highest compensation possible. The right is against allowing college athletes to become organized into labor unions and transforming athletes into employees of the universities.
That is what I was told.
My take on all this is that the "super coalition of D1 conferences" is trying to come up with some sort of self governance to bring the unsustainable, current salary war under control.
We are short on the NIL funds needed by Bruce and Hugh BUT we have an imminent series of events that are expected to fulfill our needs within a timeframe that will not let the current deficits negatively affect recruiting.
