This is from someone who has a lot of hardware on their hands and knows the program and all of CFB very well.....warning, sunshine!
On AU RBs: AU coaches are pleasantly surprised with the progress of the position after a small sample size, it's a literal three man race right now, and all are performing well in all phases of their jobs. There is more confidence in the group right now then there was coming out of spring. Asa will contribute heavily as a freshman, Boobie has matured in the areas that were critical for him over the off season and the summer, and Kam is has the most experienced and a game changing burst that makes the him the most dangerous right now. On top of that, Cox has looked really good in the reps he's been given at RB. Miller is the odd man out. Shivers is also way more capable as a true RB coming in than many recruiting evaluations projected, he won't just be a speed sweep guy.
On AU WRs: Possibly the most the receiving talent that has ever been on campus, even without stokes and Willy. Coaches seem to know they can't squander this position group. Barrett has been the wildcard, and has flashed at practice, thus increasing his demand for touches and could fill Stove's role as the phase 3 guy. Hill has "popped" more at practice than any of the other freshmen.
My take on DL talent: This DL has the ability to offer something AU hasn't had in a long time, if ever, elite personnel versatility. Against 20 and 21 personnel teams, AU can play Davidson and Coe at the ends/5's with Coe being the "Buck", and conversely against spread/10 personnel teams play TD at Buck, while being able to have a "speed" or "cheetah" or "rabbits" , whatever the hell KS wants to call it with Narlob and Coe inside, and TD and Big Cat on the outside, which is an exciting idea in long yardage situations bc you get consistent pressure with 4 and cover with 7. Watch for Truesdale to excel as the 4th guy inside and really make a name for himself as a strong rotational player.
