Fall practice starts today and we spoke with Butch Thompson.
** Mentioned this before by Casey Mize won't be throwing from the mound this fall. Going to rest his arm. Will be doing some throwing and stuff to get ready. We spoke to Mize and he said his arms feels great right now. He wants to get through the season without missing any starts and is going with advice to rest it right now.
** Davis Daniel will also be held out of throwing this fall just to rest his arm after he started last spring and threw at the Cape this summer. No known issues with his arm.
** JUCO transfer Brendan Venter will work primarily at 3B this fall. Will also work at 1B and OF.
** Butch is very impressed with young pitchers including Tanner Burns, Cody Greenhill, Jack Owen and Ryan Hoerter. They will get a lot of work this fall.
