Mickey Dean spoke to the media Tuesday afternoon. Here are the highlights...
** Taylon Snow missed three games on the California trip with an illness but is back and should be ready to go this week.
** Alyssa Rivera had to leave the California trip early for a family emergency according to Dean. She's back today.
** KK Crocker has missed several games with a thumb injury but is returning to practice today on a limited basis.
** Dean said he was proud of the way his players fought during the California trip. They finished 3-2. He said he wouldn't know how good they really are until they lose a game and he was proud of the way they performed and fought to the last pitch.
** Dean said the biggest improvement he's hoping to make this week are in-game defensive adjustments -- making sure his players are lined up properly in the field. He said it's got to come from the coaches. They will have a team meeting after practice today to discuss it.
** Dean said his pitching staff doesn't like to give up hits and doesn't like to lose, and that's what you want in the circle. He wants them to do a better job controlling their emotions and not letting a call get to them as much as it does sometimes.
** Auburn will pay six games this weekend against UNC Wilmington and Western Illinois. SEC play begins at LSU March 9.
