Was just leaving to go find a general officer to report on the bad things in his unit. He was planning on coming back. Never mind the facts that he left in the middle of the night after shipping his belongings home and emailing his parents how bad America was. He just needed to leave the base in the middle of the night and walk through Taliban country to find him somebody high up to report bad things to.
