So, my girl and I went to Nola Sunday and caught the last night of “To Kill A Mockingbird”. Had a quick bite at the “Tacklebox” close to where we were staying. Good, not great, but exactly what we needed in a quick pinch since we got held up by a wreck in traffic.

I have a season pass to the Broadway series and my girlfriend and I go quite often, but right before the show started she looked at me and said, and I quote, “Tim, there is no orchestra!” I was kind of speechless. She is from Monroe county and knows that it is a play… I guess she thought they had a musical out of it.

However, she balled her eyes out the entire play. Directed by Aaron Sorkin, he stuck so close to the book and original Gregory Peck movie version. It was incredible. One of my top stage production shows. Amazing!

So the next day we are just getting lost and found ourselves up on Frenchman street. I happen to glance at the monthly schedule for Snug Harbor and see the name Jason Mingledorff doing a record release. Jason went to my rival high school and we played in a county jazz band together. He is now a saxophone professor at Loyola. Super small world. Going to catch his album release in August.

We stopped by Voodoo on old shell in mobile on the way back to see see Jan’s daughter who was a former student of mine. Great food. Great experience.

Just thought I would share a great weekend experience bunk.

Have a great week.

Looking forward to hearing Tori Amos there the 20th.
