I don't intend this to be political, though it inevitably will be. This is intended to request some discussion of logic and understanding of trauma.

I recently read an article about a baby born with potters syndrome. They knew early on it would not survive more than a couple hours. It had no kidneys and under developed lungs. The family requested terminating the pregnancy, rather than put everyone through the trauma of what will be an unsuccessful birth. They were prevented from doing that. If anyone wants to look it up, it's the story of Baby Milo Dorbert.

The baby was born, couldn't breathe, gasped for air until it died an hour and half into its life. It was a pretty heart breaking read.

My question is why is it more "morally correct" to force that trauma on everyone than allow the family to terminate the pregnancy? I would like to hear someone explain why the baby gasping for air and the family having to give birth to a baby just in time to watch it die is considered to be a good thing. I can't imagine going through that, and if some asshole politician told me that was better for everyone I'd have a hard time restraining myself.
