Nothing deep here, but I'm up after a long night and hoping the caffeine kicks in soon....
First, I have never been a huge Bobo fan, at least as far as his skills as a play caller. I do believe he's an excellent QB coach, but he left a lot of points on the field many, many times while at UGA. I'd hoped Harsin would have a positive effect on Bobo and his play calling, but clearly that's not the case. He did exactly what he's always done (which Georgia fans always complained about) and that's forget about his stud running backs too often and go pass happy. And while Bo Nix has taken great strides, his arm strength is what it is at this point, and it's not going to win many games for us. With that being the case, as well as our WR room lacking enough playmakers, why we didn't run Tank and Hunter more in the first half is beyond me,
As far as the defense goes, Mason and his crew looked lost. We have enough talent to not make that average QB look like Joe Montana. The plan wasn't necessarily bad, but when it wasn't working I don't understand why we stuck with it.
Still, growing pains are part of coaching changes, and unlike in the past, we don't have a moron sitting at the top. The team was gritty and busting their asses, and could have won the game with a bounce or two going our way.
On to the trip....
Penn State and the "mighty" white out; this has to be the most overrated shit in history. I'm happy to admit it looked cool and the opening of the game was fun to see in person, but GMAFB. That stadium isn't loud. Oh, they love their stupid cheers (I think they have 3, and they do them over and over), but anyone hyping this noise level has never been to Auburn, Florida, LSU, aTm, Georgia, or Tuscaloosa (at least for an Iron Bowl). They are all much louder. Like, "not even close" louder.
If you've toured the road stadiums in the SEC, think Neyland with a little more space between the seat numbers, but completely old and outdated. Total dump full of fans who think they are something else.
Oh, the fans--- they were a mixture of very nice white people over 40 and complete white trash that would give the corndogs a run for their money. The female co-eds were mostly hideous and dressed like skanks, but I didn't see a single one I'd look at twice because they were pretty. Hell, we started trying to find any that were a Supper Club 7 while walking around prior to the game. It really makes you appreciate southern women when you are at a place like Penn St.
And over and over again, they yelled "Roll Tide" at us heading into and out of the stadium. They even had "Roll Lions" shirts on. I started asking them if I should yell "Go Buckeyes" back at them and they either gave me a blank stare or an "F-you."
The weirdest thing of all was I didn't see one single Black person tailgating or sitting in the stadium. Not one.
Weird place. Glad I went, but no desire to ever go back.
