Ed Orgeron leaves out UGA among best teams that LSU has played this season
by Michael Carvell
Apparently, LSU coach Ed Orgeron wasn’t impressed with UGA after his team blew out the Bulldogs in the SEC Championship.
This week, Orgeron was asked who was the best team that LSU played so far this season. His reply to reporters:
“Who’s the best team we’ve played? I’ve got to say Alabama. Alabama, Auburn, Florida. Those three guys were very good.”
No. 1-ranked LSU held on to beat No. 13 Alabama 46-41, it handled No. 9 Florida 42-28, and it narrowly edged No. 12 Auburn 23-20.
Meanwhile, the Tigers roughed up UGA 37-10 in the SEC Championship,
Perhaps Orgeron misspoke or didn’t think long enough about the question before he answered? Before the SEC Championship, the LSU coach basically put the Bulldogs on a pedestal with this comment to reporters:
“This is the most physical team we’ve played. I think this is the most complete team on both lines of scrimmage, on the offensive line and defensive line. They like to hit. They play fast.”
