Eight state liquor stores in Alabama will have Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon and other prized whiskeys available for sale on Nov. 9, the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board announced today.

Beginning Monday, Alabama residents can enter a sweepstakes to reserve one of 100 spots in line at each of the eight stores. The Select Spirits 2020 Limited Release Sweepstakes runs through Oct. 25.

ABC will notify the sweepstakes winners on Oct. 27. Winners will receive a specific place in line, 1 through 100. A place in line does not guarantee the availability of any specific product.

A list of products expected to be available.

The eight stores:
ABC Store #4 – 1199 S. Donahue Dr., Auburn
ABC Store #53 – 8115 Hwy. 72 West, Madison
ABC Store #55 – 201 Rele St., Mountain Brook
ABC Store #58 – 3232 Galleria Cir., Ste. 110, Hoover
ABC Store #67 – 160 Baldwin Sq., Fairhope
ABC Store #87 – 6941 Bellingrath Rd., Theodore
ABC Store #102 – 3420 McFarland Blvd. East, Tuscaloosa
ABC Store #175 – 2786 Eastern Blvd., Montgomery.

Participants must present a valid Alabama driver’s to buy the allocated items. The sweepstakes is also open to active military stationed in Alabama who are at least 21 and can provide proof of current Alabama residency.

ABC will notify the sweepstakes winners on Oct. 27. Winners will receive a specific place in line, 1 through 100. Winning a place in line does not guarantee the availability of any specific product.
The eight stores will also allow a walk-up line for those whose names are not drawn in the sweepstakes. The walk-up customers can enter the stores after the sweepstakes winners have made their purchases.

Whiskey lovers have waited overnight outside ABC stores during previous limited releases of Pappy Van Winkle and other coveted brands. But this year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ABC Board said customers won’t be allowed on store property until registration for sweepstakes winners and walk-up customers starts at 8 a.m.
