My wife almost died from laughing so hard when I told her what the dream was............
The dream was incredibly vivid. So the dream starts with me doing a service request at an apartment property. As I enter the apartment it's completely dark. It's hot and steamy in the apartment. Almost like a fog hanging in the air. I can't get the lights to cut on and the only light is from the emergency lights near the fire alarm. I yell out several times, "Hello, it's pest control! Anyone home!"
It's incredibly hot. Feels like a sauna. I pull out my flashlight but it's struggling to cut through the heavy fog. There's loud music playing in the back bathroom and I can hear the shower running. It's a song by Holly Humberstone, which I don't really listen to her music but it was the very last song I heard on my way home from work last night and I guess it got stuck in my head.
The bathroom has no door on it. It's more like a locker/bathroom at a gym. There's heavy steam rolling out of there and the music seems to get louder. I shine my light into the bathroom and everything is tile. Tile floor, tile walls, and there's multiple sinks along the wall. The water is on in all the sinks and steam is coming out. There's a boombox on one of the counters. I go over and turn it off. The volume goes way down but the song is still playing softly in the background. For some reason that isn't even odd to me.
At the end of the long row of sinks is a tile wall that goes up 2/3rd's of the way to the ceiling, so that you could see someone's head if they were showering but that's it. The opening to the shower is right in the middle of this tile wall and there's no door. It's like a 6 inch step up and your in the shower. I can see a shower head on the left and right sides. It's maybe a 10 foot by 6 foot double shower. Both showers are on.
As I get closer to the shower opening my light gets dimmer. I can't tell if the battery is dying or if it's from all the steam billowing out of the showers. I can see myself from my flashlight in the mirrors above the sinks as I walk past each one. Everything in my mind is telling me to get the **** out of there, but I can't control what I'm doing. It's more like watching a movie of myself at this point.
At this point my flashlight is barely doing anything. It's so hard to see. I get to the shower partition and I peek around the right wall. I'm looking about midway up with my flashlight and it's barely showing through to the shower handle. All of the sudden the steam parts and my flashlight cuts through. There's just a leg laying on the floor. A full leg, all the way up to the hip. Blood is running down to the drain.
At this point I know something is on the left side of the shower, just behind me. Everything is super slow motion. I'm screaming like a child who just saw Santa get hit by a mac truck. I feel something grab my shoulder and I turn to see this face about 7 feet up and 3 feet away. It's the most horrifying zombie face I've ever seen and it's grinning. It bites my shoulder and I wake up screaming and flailing.
My wife is grabbing my shoulder and shushing me. "You're going to wake up the kids", she hisses. "What in the world were you dreaming about?". I told her and by the time I finished, she was laughing so hard that I thought she would wake up the kids. She kept making fun of my scream. She kept doing this high pitched, "woah, woah, woah!" I went back to sleep as she was still laughing at me and immitating my screams.
The end.
