Blayne had his highest finish ever in a PGA event today, finishing 8th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. He's come in ninth twice previously.
I'm so proud of my little brother, Cory Gilmer, who quit his job and took Blayne up on his offer to be his caddie on a full time basis. They were roommates while at AU and the best of buds while playing together on the golf team. I must admit that I had chill bumps when Blayne took the lead today after tapping in for birdie after almost chipping in for eagle, on the par 5, 7th hole.
I'm glad Blayne got a taste of what it's like to lead on the final day. It should serve as good experience down the road for him. Hopefully this is the start of a great golfer/caddie team. This was the first PGA event that my brother ever caddied. Not too shabby of a start!
War Damn Eagle fellas!!!
