Should we really be banking on a transfer QB in 25 or 26?

By and large, portal QBs don't seem to have great success at their next stop (at least in year 1).

Looking around college football, most of the contenders appear to have home grown talent or a portal QB that has been there for 2+ years (Jaxson Dart in year 3 at OM).

Best 2 teams (OSU and Miami) w/ transfer QBs also have stacked rosters and 5th year QBs. Oregon has nearly lost to Idaho and Boise St. in their first two games. I don't think they belong in the same group as the other 2, even though they are highly ranked.

This leads back to my original question, should we even be banking on a transfer to save us next year or in 26? Odds seem to point to a home grown kid being the one to help us take the next step.
