I think Sexton is playing us all like fiddles.
I’m betting that we end up with Hugh and that Kiffin replaces Saban at Bama when he retires in a year or two. Kiffin is one of few coaches that probably wouldn’t shy away from the shadow of Saban. My guess is that Sexton is using Auburn to raise the price tag on Kiffin for next year or whenever Saban decides to bow out.
I think that if Hugh was the front runner from the beginning, people would find a way to complain about his character and past, whereas I think people would be much happier with him if we “missed” out on Kiffin and he was the fallback.
