Why did any of you have such high expectations?!?! EVERY ONE OF YOU KNEW how bad this roster was. Hugh Freeze stepped into a dumpster fire. Go back and read this board since 2017 and the same posters who pointed out how bad our recruiting was under Gus and Potato are now calling for Hughs head. The dude had 3 months to turn recruiting around(which he did) through high school and portal. That in itself should have told you how bad and depleted our roster was.
Now you expect him to go undefeated in his first year?
My only complaint with Hugh is I don't like the OL recruiting strategy of relying on portal transfers. We need more HS linemen that are 5.9 or better and I believe Hugh will go after them after this year.
Again, we were awful last year so why did you expect us to be great this year? We were not ATM that had recruited over 14 5 stars over the past three years. We weren't even Gus's 2013 team that had the benefit of being left 2 really good recruiting classes. And please don't say play calling as while there were some bad calls in this game, there were plenty of times a play could have been made.
