The first of the two SEC newcomers to speak during media days is Oklahoma and Brent Venables.
Not totally sure if I'll ever understand a team from the state of Oklahoma in the South Eastern Conference ($$), but here we are:

Question time:
Not totally sure if I'll ever understand a team from the state of Oklahoma in the South Eastern Conference ($$), but here we are:
************************
Opening statement:
- Says that his team has a good mix of experience and youth
- Lots of excitement but a lot of work to do between now and the start of the season
- Thinks the SEC is the best (kiss that ring)
- They're looking forward to the challenge of the SEC
Question time:
- Bob Holt bats leadoff: he asks about Jackson Arnold and how ready Oklahoma is for the SEC:
- Said that Arnold knows what it takes to lead a team and how to handle ups and downs. Mentioned that he's a young guy and coaches will need to help a bit there, but thinks he's ready for the moment
- Doesn't know how to answer the second question but says they're excited for the opportunity and aren't going to be scared.
- Guy asks about sideline tablets and helmet communication:
- "It's a great resource... it'll be useful in some ways and you have to make sure it's not distracting in others."
- He's asked about the Tulane game (yeah):
- "This will be an opportunity to see where you're at... we'll treat it as such."
- HE'S ASKED ABOUT HORNS DOWN:
- "I don't have an opinion." Basically said that if the rules say don't do it, then don't do it, and vise versa. He was prepared for that one
- Asked about the Texas rivalry and if it'll change with them being in the SEC:
- "I don't see how the conference affiliation will make a big difference."
- "Everyone has asked about the impact of Oklahoma and Texas joining the SEC, what does that say about Oklahoma and Texas?" That's a real question that got asked.
- Ted Roof mentioned! He was asked about his new coordinators:
- Venables said that coordinating changes going into a new conference seems daunting, but he's known both of his new coordinators for a while, so that makes things a lot easier on the team.
