Went 4-3 last weekend. Picked Miss St and Vandy to just win their series and both swept. So, I won't take full credit there. 11-10 on the year in my guessing. aTm losing the series to Mizzou is just bad. Right now, I think 8 SEC teams get into the NCAAT:

Vandy
Arkansas
Ole Miss
Miss St
Tennessee
South Carolina
Florida
Kentucky

Week 4

Bama at Texas A&M (2-1): Bama is still playing well despite dealing with some injuries to the pitching staff themselves. Their offense can score in bunches. aTm should get Bryce Miller back in their rotation this weekend. I'm tempted to pick Bama here because aTm seems to be scuffling pretty badly, but with no Connor Prielipp still and Bama still short on arms in a bullpen that is similar to Auburn's, they just seem to struggle to hold teams at bay on Saturday and Sunday. Going with Aggies here, although I'm not exactly convicted on this one.

Arkansas (2-1) at Ole Miss: This is a really intriguing matchup. OM's starters are the better unit of the two. Arkansas has the better and deeper and more versatile bullpen. I believe OM is second in the SEC in BA behind Vandy in SEC games, but they lost a huge piece of their offense earlier this week when Tim Elko went down with a knee injury. Arkansas has the better power potential IMO, and I think that eventually wins out this weekend as they see the same style pitching all weekend. Probably the best matchup of the weekend, especially that Friday night game with Hoglund facing their lineup.

Miss St at Auburn (2-1): I do think the last series was big for Auburn. I think we have our rotation more settled and should get Mullins back for Sunday. Miss St has a really strong rotation and a good closer. They lead the SEC in strikeouts in SEC games. So we have our work cut out for us. Being at home should be a help to the younger pitchers, and we're in "must win" territory, which I think will bring out a bit more urgency from us. One thing I'm concerned about is weather. If weather moves things around, it will force us deeper into our bullpen, which isn't great for us.

Florida at Tennessee (2-1): First big test for UT against a top half team. I've liked what this team has shown all year, and I think it shows up again this weekend. They just find ways to fight and stay in games and win games in different ways. Scrappy, veteran group. Florida is still trying to figure out their pitching staff, and their big prospects in the lineup aren't producing. UT does have some weakness in their starting rotation, but I just think they're confident and on a roll right now.

UGA at Vandy (3-0): Vandy might not sweep, but as long as Rocker and Leiter go Fri/Sat and until they play some top end competition, it's hard not to pick them to sweep. IMO it wouldn't be a terrible strategy for any bottom tier team to save all their arms to throw on Sunday to try to get a win against them. Rocker and Leiter are just that good.

LSU at Kentucky (2-1): Probably the two biggest surprises of the SEC this year. LSU has been a major disappointment and is now without Jaden Hill, who came into the season as their ace and a potential top 10 pick. UK is coming off being swept at Miss St but played pretty well in all three games. UK's pitching has been strong, and if they can keep LSU's bats in check, they'll win this series. LSU is in a real bad spot right now.

Missouri at South Carolina (2-1): Mizzou has gotten better as it's warmed up. Still like South Carolina's pitching staff and lineup, but I think Mizzou finds a way to steal a game in Columbia.
