The game thread only had 53 posts, mostly play-by-play, but that doesn't mean we couldn't find some salt in various anger-induced off-shoots.
From the official game thread:
Our main hope is our history of success against Bruce Pearl. And our only shot is to play like we did against state last week. If we do, we’ve got a shot. Otherwise, it could get ugly. Come on boys!!!!!
---
We are playing a lot better
---
Must be our day
---
Complete team effort so far
---
Couldn’t have a more awful end of half finish
---
Yes, but played as well the first 16-17 minutes as any Ole Miss team has in years!!! We shot 55 percent from the field and 50 percent from three point range!!!
---
First couple minutes of the second half is going to mean a lot
---
This game is going to make me mad
---
Only a matter of time before we gave it away….
---
Our threes dried up
---
Man, we are jinxed injury wise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Defund OM Basketball"
Talk about a waste of time and resources
---
We're investing millions of dollars to get results that could be obtained by spend a few thousand. This ***** would never fly in the private sector. What a fing joke of a program.

"Bruce Pearl."
[Link to "Why some people hate Bruce Pearl: A timeline" article.]
---
Pearl looks like he should be in the Mafia
---
Is NASTY. Of course he is despicable and a bunch of other things too. Nasty.
---
The whole bench area where Pearl was located needs to sprayed with Lysol.
---
2 things….Pearl is a good coach and we obviously aren’t cheating enough.
---
Call him whatever you want. But the guy wins! I just want to win, man. Being a perennial Sweet-16 caliber program sounds and looks good to me. I want that for Ole Miss. This average-to-below-average crap has to stop!!! Celebrating moral victories is useless, pointless and terribly pathetic. And with Kermit Davis as our coach, that is pretty much all we’re reduced to doing.
"The 3 most corrupt hoops programs in the SEC…."
Are LSU, Kentucky, and Auburn. And they are currently the best 3 teams in the SEC. What message does that send?
---
That other teams should start cheating their @$$ off also.
---
If it were all about money, building a bb team is much easier to do.
---
1. Cheatin' Pays
2. Having good coaches helps
---
Learn how to cheat better.
"Bruce Pearl makes my skin crawl"
Biggest scum bag in college sports
---
Perfect coach for allbarn
---
These announcers never say anything about him getting suspended.
---
Will Wade is his son.
---
I know we have them as well but I listened to some low class Auburn fans tonight. I finally had to leave before I said something.
---
Yet, we get a two year bowl ban for letting a kid sleep on a coach’s couch…..
How Pearl and Wade are still employed is beyond me. The effin FBI pulled up on them, and the NCAA looks the other way.
---
I wish Kermit was a thug
---
I’m pretty sure that no athletic program in the SEC has been on probation as many times in its history as Auburn— I think I’m correct in saying that.
And Pearl has been caught multiple times breaking the rules, yet he’s still coaching. And not only did he cheat at Tennessee, but he told his team to lie to NCAA investigators.
Barney Farrer didn’t do a tiny, tiny fraction of what Tennessee and Auburn have done under Pearl and Barney’s career was almost ruined. Yet, Pearl is still coaching and no one says a word.
---
Ole Miss has pissed in its bed and paid the price for it every time. In fact, no one seems to ever let our past die.
Pearl's actions are swept under rug like they never happened. If people on here didn't mention them, the uninformed fans would never even know they happened.
---
Pearl looks like and acts like a mafia crime boss...
"Its year 4 and there is still no hope for this program"
Yes, Auburn is the 4th ranked team in the country, they’re good. It doesn’t take away from the fact that we had a 14 point lead, and we choked the lead away. This season is lost, there will be no postseason for us. So that'll make it 3 years in a row with no postseason, how is KC still defending this?! You can tell the difference in the coaching. One coach made halftime adjustments, the other coach decided to throw his usual hissy fit at the refs. And quite honestly, I don’t see how there is any hope for the future of this basketball program.
---
Auburn may be the best team in the nation. I never thought that we were going to win this game
---
Choking leads and watching our coach throw temper tantrums has been the story all season long. It’s embarrassing!
---
Hard to adjust to superior talent. Auburn had better players and more of them
---
What sucks is what makes them so good? It is not magic. It is recruiting, development and coaching. Make all the excuses you want but we watching ever team in the SEC pass us.
---
As long as Emmert allows these coaches to make strong **** offers there will always be a difference. Everyone knows they are cheating. Halftime adjustments my rear end. The Rebs left it all on the court tonight. I'm looking forward to the day there is no NCAA.
"Ole Miss played as well as it can with the roster…"
It just faced the now ranked #1 team in the country.
44% from the floor
38% from three
100% from the free throw line
---
That Auburn team has some serious NBA talent, too.
---
I agree totally. Just got home and though disappointed w a loss, our boys played as hard as they have in a long time. They gave all they had. Auburn has a lot of talent and it just caught up with us. I still have no respect for Bruce Pearl though.
---
Start buying players, I mean, it’s what AU did. They basically got a $5k fine, HC suspended 2 games and a couple of scholarships.
---
Auburn also plays a style of basketball that the top kids want to play. We don’t. Those thinking that style of play has no sway on prospects are being naive or are just plain wrong. Yes, money rules college basketball, but style of play is also important to luring top talent to your program.
"How much would a Kessler"
Cost? Could use one or two. Bruce Pearl is a bum
---
Kessler averaged 4 points and 3 rebounds last year at UNC. Wish we had a coach that could develop players like that as he was the difference maker tonight.
---
Kessler was good but the 6’10 forward had such a smooth shot. It was ridiculous the talent they have.
---
Auburn might win the whole thing - as in NCAA Champions. They have the guards, the big men and the depth to do it.
"Awburn Invasion"
Know it is early, but the Awburn nation have taken over the pavilion. In my over 30 years of season tickets never seen this many opposing fans.
Think my wife and I are the only Ole Miss fans in WHITE!
---
They were all over town this afternoon and evening. Thick in the restaurant we ate at. Auburn car flags up and down Highway 6. I'm with you. It looked like a football weekend with a visiting SEC team in town (other than Vandy).
---
Word is that it’s far easier to get away game tix than home tix. Kermit needs to hold more BBQ’s.
---
Amazing what can happen when assistant coaches pay players and non punishment is handed out?????
---
Guess it is good for the economy but it is disgusting. I feel like I am at a road game.
---
I was talking to a couple coming in and they were saying they couldn’t get tickets at auburn so they had to travel to go to a game. We wouldn’t know about that here. Maybe half full with at least a third of the attendees being auburn fans. Our guys are playing hard and deserve better support. Thank goodness the student section is reasonably full.
---
Their fans are loud!
---
Yes they are.
---
Really embarrassing for us as a fan base. Sounded terrible on tv.
---
I was completely surrounded by Auburn fans. Lady next to me said their tickets were $200 with SRO. Large familys came here for cheap tickets
---
Very, very, very weak. Just no way that should happen in basketball, really, it shouldn’t happen in any sport, but somehow, it happens at OM
"What is the crowd"
Mix. Rebels to war eagles
---
Being at home, it better be overwhelming in favor of Rebs
---
I’m here, and there are a lot of Auburn fans. Hard to say what the mix is, but they’re as loud as our crowd.
---
You are right Auburn is very loud. Guess if we were 4th in nation we would be loud and travel well. Feels like more of them. Our students are great. Their big guys are incredible. Seems unfair.
