So like many Pantera fans - I haven’t seen them live in over 20 years.
I was happy to see the tribute announcement and I love Charlie/Zakk. They were very good tonight… the sound was strong and the set list was too. Something was definitely missing though.
It could be they are all older but a Pantera show had such a visceral energy. They weren’t angry buy they played angry. This iteration was so happy to be playing and that’s great but it isn’t the Pantera I grew up seeing.
Hearing those songs again was amazing but those of us who saw Dime and Vinnie really should appreciate those shows.
I recommend it if you’re a fan and this was my thoughts on it.
