Some transfer portal notes:
Quarterback
Quarterback
- Auburn signed Jackson Arnold Saturday morning.
- There's a world where Auburn could potentially sign both Arnold AND Maalik Murphy, I'm not ruling that out.
- Keep an eye on Ashton Daniels. Auburn could turn up the heat on him now that they've signed one QB.
- Durell Robinson's visit went good and I like where Auburn stands here. He's 6-foot-1, so he fits the bigger back that AU is seeking. He could compete for a starting job, or the room could become a committee with Alston, Cobb and Henderson.
- Ahmad Hardy is expected to visit next week, but I'm not high on Auburn in this one.
- Sounds like Auburn had a good visit with Eric Singleton, who's also being heavily pursued by Ole Miss.
- CJ Daniels knows this staff well, he actually visited the last time he transferred. Said getting a QB was important "point blank period." Well, Auburn's got one now...
- Wake Forest transfer Horatio Fields is still expected to visit next week.
- Bauer Sharp signed with LSU.
- Max Klare is visiting Texas this week, but Notre Dame remains in the picture.
- Luke Hasz is visiting Ole Miss this week.
- UPDATE: Hasz has signed with Ole Miss.
- Kentucky transfer Khamari Anderson got in to Auburn last night and is here today.
- Elon transfer Cody Hardy will visit Auburn this weekend.
- Virginia Tech OL transfer Xavier Chaplin is currently on a visit to Auburn. I'd consider him to be at the top of the board.
- Wendell Moe Jr. and Mason Murphy both visited at the same time, departing from their visits today.
- Josh Thompson plans to take visits to Ohio State, South Carolina and Tennessee.
- Dallas Walker had a really good visit to Auburn. Oklahoma State and UCF are the other two schools in contention. He's gonna play in WKU's bowl game on the 18th, so don't expect a decision before then.
- Auburn laid out the red carpet for Clev Lubin. He was really impressed and has two more visits lined up — Minnesota and Louisville.
- Phoenix Jackson made it to Auburn last night. He's visiting throughout the day and I like where Auburn sits going into the visit.
- Auburn has a couple of different options at safety — Jacksonville State transfer Zechariah Poyser and Georgia Tech transfer Taye Seymore.
- Poyser is hoping to have a decision by early next week. He visits Georgia and then Florida before then.
- Seymore is looking to visit Indiana and Michigan State.
- Miami OH transfer Raion Strader is expected to come in tomorrow for an official visit.
- Oklahoma State transfer Hudson Kaak is wrapping up his official visit today. I like Auburn's chances with him.
