interesting Newsweek piece. Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Hawaii and Utah are the safest. You can probably guess the most dangerous. It takes into account violent crimes, transportation infrastructure, financial security, weather, among other things.

Also the US ranks 132nd safest out of 163 in the worldwide ranking..yikes.
