Rick Barnes Out at Texas
Not sure if you can see it if you don't have a 247 subscription, but the gist is all signs pointing to Barnes not returning. They want wholesale staff changes. He isn't expected to agree. So he will be gone.
I think his buyout goes down 250k as of April 1st, so it won't become official until then, but they can start looking at Gregg Marshall now.
The race for Marshall just heated up for spuat. The one school that can and will compete in terms of money and facilities, plus they have a better recent basketball history. It is going to be hilarious to see the meltdown if Marshall ends up in Austin and they end up hiring Michael White. Not that White is a bad coach, but they have their hearts set on Marshall. It would've been like us missing on Pearl, except worse. Because Pearl is now our coach and they know they have to make a hire to compete.
